Kit Glaisyer re-imagines the Romantic Landscape genre by combining traditional oil painting techniques with an innovative contemporary sensibility. He creates immersive, panoramic paintings that engage the viewer in an intimate relationship with the natural environment, crafting emotive journeys through an evocative dreamscape where light, darkness and a transcendent experience of nature are embraced.

As a boy, Kit won an Art Scholarship to Sherborne School for Boys, then studied at Bournemouth & Poole then Farnham Art Colleges, before moving to work in London. He then moved to Bridport in 1998 where he started St Michael’s Studios and worked there until 2018. He ran the Garden Gallery in Bath from 2017-18 and now runs Bridport Contemporary Gallery.

Kit was a finalist in the 2012 Portrait Prize at Bath’s Holburne Museum, enjoyed a major retrospective exhibition of 45 paintings in “The Cinematic Landscape” at the Octagon Gallery, Bath in 2013, and was ‘Highly Commended’ in the Marshwood Arts Awards 2015. His works are in private collections around the world and he continues to create private commissions alongside regular exhibitions.
