9 days of Art in Bridport and across West Dorset throughout the 2nd week of September

Bridport & West Dorset Open Studios is an annual 9-day celebration of contemporary visual artists who live in Bridport and the surrounding countryside. Over 21 years, the event has grown to become a distinctive showcase for the thriving West Dorset art scene.

This year’s event takes place from 7-15 September 2019, with a FREE 56-page event Guide available in August with helpful maps to over 100 artists in 56 studios, homes and galleries across West Dorset from Abbotsbury to West Bay and Evershot to Marshwood.

Open Studio events offer the public an opportunity to visit artists’ studios and workplaces (which are usually private). You’re encouraged to talk to the artists about their creative process and discover their most recent work fresh off the easel. Most artists will have original works for sale, as well as cards & prints.  

You’ll find a wide variety of art on display, from well-known names to emerging artists and keen newcomers. Whatever your taste in art, we're sure you'll find something to enjoy - whether it’s for investment, pleasure or simply to support the talented artists.
